| Milam Glacier, the largest in the Kumaon, lies at an altitude of 4,267 metres. One of the largest villages in the Kumaon, called Milam, is situated a few kilometers before the glacier. Rich in handicrafts and traditional folklore this area is relatively unexplored and retains the cultural traditions of the Kumaon. Here legends have the sanctity of history and remoteness has ensured the preservation of art, music and culture. Milam is also the nodal point for a variety of high grade treks to different glaciers. | ||
