"The Lord's my shepherd, I'll not want. He makes me down to lie in pastures green: he leadeth me the quiet waters by My soul he doth restore again"
Scottish psalms

GANGA - YAMUNA PACKAGE

The Ganga and Yamuna rivers find their source in Garhwal. And so Garhwal is Dev Bhumi, land of the Gods, for all the tributaries of the Ganga rise from within the confines of the Garhwal Himalayas. The Gaumukh Glacier, the source of the legendary Ganga, lies some 21 kilometers from Gangotri at a height of 3,890 meters. The gush of the river emerging from the tip of the glacier is impressive, with the Himalayan Peak Shivling, and icy pinnacle, looming behind the glacier.

One of the great tributaries of the Ganges, the Yamuna, finds her source on the slopes of the great Himalayas. Yamunotri, 3,185 meters, stands on the western flank of the great peak of Banderpoonch. It forms the watershed of the Hanuman Ganga and Tons river, which is a tributary of the Yamuna. Yamunotri has a number of hot water springs and the water is hot enough for devotees to tie bundles of rice and potatoes and suspend them in the hot water till they are cooked.
